GRADE 7

Grade 7 is the year wherein we prepare our learners to deal with the challenges awaiting them in High School!

Not only do we ensure that our learners are on top of their academic games, but so too do we focus on taking the child and giving him the last tweak, tune-up and polish before he goes off to high school.

With a very experienced complement of teachers, we are able to provide the best possible way of getting our pupils ready for high school. Our academic programme is CAPS aligned with a few of our own variations which ensure our boys and girls are a step ahead. Such variations include a look at our local history such as Indians in KwaZulu-Natal, the Byrne Settlers and the Bambatha Rebellion.

A highlight of our year is our outdoor trips. We go to Roselands Outdoor Centre where we expose our children to the different biomes, map orientation and the life of the endangered blue swallow: as well as this, Roselands focuses on teamwork, building self-esteem and the whole social development of the individual.

The other outdoor trip is the Zingela Experience. Here our children go back in time and live the life of a hunter-gatherer. Deep in the Tugela valley, children are put through white water rafting and raft building as well as many other team-building activities.

Our SENCOM and SENIOR SYSTEM allow for a self orientated system of leadership development. All pupils are leaders but in their own fields of expertise.  This gives pupils a chance to excel at their own pace.

With these strong foundations we send our Grade Seven pupils on their way to their chosen High schools. We feel sure that we have prepared our pupils to  face the challenges awaiting them out there.
